It is sometimes very hard to know how to deal with deep emotions. Of these six: kama (lust), krodha (anger) lobha (greed), moha (bewilderment), mada (madness) and matsarya (envy), only envy must be ruthlessly uprooted from a devotee's heart. The other five, according to Narottama Dasa Thakur, must be dovetailed. He gives the following examples on how to do it: Lust by offering the results of my activities to Krsna. Anger by directing it to the enemies of the devotees. Greed by eagerness to hear Krsna-katha. Bewilderment by acknowledging my frustrating inability to quickly attain Krsna. Madness when I glorify the limitless beauty and sweet unpredictability of Krsna.
A personal point of view by Carlo Ananda Swarup (Carlo Alberto Dorigatti), disciple of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

Our Six Demons and How to Deal With Them

Radhe Radhe,
I think we must be very careful, as you say, with the instruction to direct our anger towards the enemies of the devotees. One may interpret this in a way that people who are living a non-spiritual life are the ones who we should be angry at, or more likely the people that we feel stand in the way of our personal perception of the way that Krishna Consciousness should be attained. Actually the Bhagavad Gita states that the six demons that Anandaji has mentioned here in this post are our actual enemies, therefore anger directed to any people should actually be seen as the enemy or demon itself. Anger should be directed in a way that it destroys our attachments to these six unwanted states of being. In this way one can see that the enemies of the devotees are actually living within our own minds. This proves our own responsibility for our own anger. You could also say, the way that we perceive other so-called wrong-doers is a reflection of our attachment to this anger, envy or any of these six demons. Therefore forgiving our wrong-doers will always result in a clearer perception of things and letting go of our attachments. We should always keep in our minds that Krishna is the Supreme Controller and he always makes the right decisions in this material world and beyond it. If we trust therein letting go of these feelings/attachments becomes lighter. Please forgive as soon as possible in any situation.
Very nicely put Krsna das. As it is said, "We have seen our enemy, and it is us!" Prabhupada also said something like, if Krsna Himself directly tells you to kill then only can you do it. However, our only connection with Krsna is through Gaur Nitai, thorugh humility and tolerance. True humility will come when we live the truth that Krsna is in control at all times and accept whatever He sanctions for our own good.
Yes Prabhuji, Thank you
